Chapter Ten: The Secret Squad

 Santa Claus has ever since needed protection, beginning with the Green Snoker incident, that the Christmas Corporation immediately appointed its most talented Elves to form a single unit to be known as the Secret Squad. Resources have been allocated to Santa Claus' safety, especially recently when the Unknown Enemy has secretly been found to be lurking within the vicinity of the North Pole.

The Secret Squad, once alerted, has activated the Generosity Shield, a force field that screens the people going in and out of the village to determine their fitness to be granted entry. It was said that an unworthy person shall perish if he attempted to enter if his heart is unclean, and his fists are clenched, incapable of giving and receiving.

The reports were unclear, however, if the Unknown Enemy was in fact been near the North Pole, or if the signals received were a false alarm. There was a signal received, that is for certain, though. The veracity of the reports can never be questioned. False or no, any threat to the security of Santa Claus and the North Pole must be addressed according to the Most Prudent Resolution of the Honorable Society of the Christmas Corporation.

It did happen though. The Unknown Enemy has been near the village of the North Pole. And he was there for a reason.

The Master Lead of the Secret Squad has been mobilizing the Elves to the different stations where entrance and exit may be granted, in case the Generosity Shield fails for any reason that it might be broken, or breached by force.

Security is a serious matter. And winter is coming.

Winter. It means the magic sleigh must do its annual job, but it is being threatened by the Unknown Enemy who is trying to steal one of these sleighs. The purpose was uncertain, and the volatility of the situation gives rise to questions that must be addressed in due time.

The Christmas Corporation maintains that Santa Claus' background was one of strict confidentiality, and that the North Pole was founded "on account of love and friendship." Nothing else was known about his past, except that he was being pursued by a villain only known by the name of Unknown Enemy.

The peace in the village creates no noise, and it is deafening. A plan of attack is brewing, and this Christmas gifting season is in grave danger.
