Chapter Thirty Six: Certificate of Role Number

Rosie the Froglet Plush Toy, as she took that name after she was inducted through the Magic of Christmas, by the Elves that created her in the Toy Factory as a bona fide Assistant of the Academy of Elven Causes, was suddenly in grave danger. The first problem that Rosie discovered was the fatal mistake of her arrival in the host household where she is currently living in, in which she completely lacks the magical harmony. It seems that the elements surrounding the cosmic powers in this particular home disallow her magic to fully materialize, which is quite a big problem for her to sufficiently guard her ward.

But there is a second problem as well. Because of this fatal mistake in the scheduling of her delivery and then landing into the wrong address, she was not able to conceal the magic from within, in which case she must be able to be extra careful in her dispensation of her role as the guardian of her ward. She immediately sent distress calls to the Elfish Engineering Foreman regarding her dangerous situation, and help is trying to reach her home-based abode since then.

It is imperative in the Omnibus Gift-Giving Methods to officially state the reasons for Santa Claus' gifting motivation, which is a document known as the Certificate of Role Number, for every toy delivered by the reindeers and the magic sleighs during the Christmas Eve, where the magic is fully manifested in the night sky. There is no room for an error of this magnitude, and yet it transpired without any known logical explanation; the cause of this error simply vanished while the investigation returned without concrete results. There is absolutely no one to fault in this scenario, which is curious even by magical standards.

The innocence of this event from happening was prematurely assumed, until there were reasons to belief that it has been part of a bigger conspiracy. It has been later on concurred that there was a sabotage made in the process, but the possibility of breaching the protocols of The Village is very unlikely. The error seems to present all by itself, unhindered and unmotivated. Something or someone was altering reality, and the Elves cannot simply point out the errors, or the plot to sabotage the ultimate experience, in their supplemental report to the Christmas Corporation.

Of course, the Christmas Corporation was deeply bothered with the seriousness involving the strange incident. Not only that this seemingly harmless breach of procedure became a solid proof for further disguised attacks against the Corporation, the more important it became clearer that the inherent power of the letters of love addressed to Santa Claus warrants further investigation and research.

However, everything has led into this one dangerous conclusion. There is an organized attempt to alter the efficacy of the Magic of Christmas (and by extension, the reality of experiences), with the problem being solemnly defined, but the process of how to protect it from future degradation is currently unknown. There seems an involuntary response on this deliberate attempt to "supersede the magic by altering the ultimate reality."

Whether Rosie's fate was one of bad luck or a desirable serendipity, nothing else really matters at this point. The attack must be identified, but it needs to start somewhere, to be concretely addressed.

And where to begin is always the hardest part.
