Chapter Forty: The Central Station of Little Drummer Boys

The Little Drummer Boys are the Spirit of Christmas that has taken themselves into the solemn responsibility of protecting the North Pole from any danger of offensive attacks, choosing to act in a toy armor that takes the form of a Little Drumner Boy and totally armed with the magical drumsticks where the power is forcibly released from its tip, an arsenal that has been proven to be useful for all types of battle and combat.

A Little Drummer Boy can be likened to a robot dressed in a red uniform adorned with bright yellow buttons, accentuated by black hues, a tall feathered hat similar to a military cadet's, and a decorated shoulder pad that shows their rank, as well as the wearing of a dark blue trousers and black leather shoes. Their drumsticks are positioned halfway through their belts, and can be wielded at any time in case an attack is imminent or if danger requires them to protect themselves.

The Central Station is located near the border of The Village and a place called Williamshire, which is that part of the North Pole that is forbidden for everyone to enter by quite a number of reasons. It will suffice to say that Williamshire was once part of the Christmas Corporation's mandate albeit its actual purpose was unknown, until the time came when the Psychometrician Store was eventually founded, which then eclipsed the functions attributed to Williamshire.

Many Elves and Mirrorites have assumed that Williamshire's status as off-limits is a territory that has been cursed many years ago, which is a part of a tale that circulate around that what actually exists beyond that point was a harrowing experience nobody deserves to go through while some say that it was part of a territory where the dreaded Gremlins exist.

Williamshire was a place named for John Fort Williams Collegetown, which, according to the legends aside from what was already elucidated above, is a specialized training center for the Mirrorites and the Spirits of the Little Drummer Boys that has been corrupted by a strange phenomenon. Later on, it was held that the Gremlins attacked Williamshire in a bid to overthrow them from the vicinity, but they were ultimately defeated by using an echantment for them to sleep in oblivion.

The Little Drummer Boys do not confirm nor deny any of these expositions, and nobody cares anyway. Williamshire is a forbidden place and nobody is authorized to seek what actually lies inside its eerie streets. But the Central Station of the Little Drummer Boys was built there, right outside the border of Williamshire, presumably to guard something, but again nothing is being made certain at this point.

Every hour, the Guards of the Little Drummer Boys take turn in guarding the border of The Village by standing on attention while facing the eerie silence of the Avenue that leads further into the main street to Williamshire. There was no actual threat present for many years, and the fright associated with the legends have slowly dissipated.

But today, the Little Drummer Boys on-duty heard a chilling voice coming from the Williamshire side. It was a strange howl, almost with certainty that it was coming from an animal or a wolf even. The Little Drummer Boys were startled and immediately grabbed their drumsticks to wield them in the direction of the horrifying noise, ready to defend themselves.
