Chapter Fifty Seven: Christmas Tree
Nothing else can embody the ideal of an eternal life other than the example given to a tree, which is proven to stand the test of time, with its foundation so much strongly rooted underneath the earth, the soil beng the very same substance that was used to create the first human being according to the religious accounts of the creation story found in the Scriptures of the many faiths that are still professed up to this day.
Eternity was not intended to see many of the human life to suffer and die, and other biological creatures to wither and decompose. Life is a precious miracle that could not have been corrupted by the notion of original sin, which is brought about by the first disobedience to the Word of the Lord. And this same violation is clearly exhibited on how the fate of man truly depends on his stewardship over all creation.
The same authority given to the first human being, i.e., to care for his surroundings and name them according to his own accord, which includes the fundamental (and only) law of not eating the poisonous fruits from a certain tree, represents the similar pretext on how humans are now preparing to reverse the effects of human exploitation by trying to reverse the adverse ecological effects of pollution and degradation in the earth's most important biosystems.
A tree is a tree no mattter how tall or short it is, of course. In fact, a humble tree carries its own existential mission by creating oxygen as a byproduct of photosynthesis, in return for the carbon dioxide emitted by human beings and animals that is a waste product of respiration. All of these knowledge of mutual benefit drawn from ecological relationships similar to the social dimensions of human society has synthesized the mystery of life as an irreplacable bond between people to culture, and the wild animals to its own habitat.
Perhaps, a tree of so much power had been possible to actually exist, both as a matter of attribution and the reality of the power that has been embodied in the tongues of fire, known to have started during the Pentecost; this power unknowingly spread in so many ways that is beyond the reach of intellectual inquiry of those followers of faith that has stood firmly and devotedly on a piece of religious stance, never to be afforded a consistent defense to firmly hold on to the truth until later on into the long centuries where the body of science gradually evolved.
To find this particular tree is considered to be the first instance of true knowledge to anyone who can see and feel the magic everywhere, and this is probably the hidden reason that motivated the first use of a Christnas Tree, for a tree is very rich in symbolic ways, as much as the faith that runs through the basic faculty of the human mind is capable of interpreting symbols.
And this almost rare symbolism attracts the attention of the major value of aesthetics, as it is related to the philosophical foundations of religious disposition that makes it beautiful, and intellectual, in such a way that the arts have become the major vehicle that motivates the mission of those who worship freely, and all of those who converted for the same reason.
Symbols are quite indispensable to the manner of transmission of meaning; for the memories as old as time, non-verbal communication has always been developed by its continuous usage in all aspects of human life and endeavors, such that it became the very basis of what constitutes good transmittal of meaning through any medium, and as strongly as the aid of the design arts will allow.
