Chapter Seventy Eight: Nature of Loneliness
"I am not afraid to be alone; you know that to be true. You cannot make me destroy anybody, within my own power. Sadness can never motivate me to hurt other people. I would rather kill myself, instead."
"Are you still as brave as before? That is interesting."
"I know the depth of your knowledge of the realm of loneliness. All Metaphysicians do know this fragile secret to be true; there is no denying this very fact, even for someone like me. Sadness is more representative of reality than the many jubilations in life. You know it, too, as much as I do. There is no fear in me by saying this."
"Whatever it is that you know about the mystery and ability of Extra Sensory Perception is of greater extent than a normal person would do, I would admit. Not everyone is going to be kind hearted, generous, or brave in the midst of the chaos. Everyone is simply driven by their own self-interest."
"And that is the main source of loneliness, correct? That's what you are going to say."
"Not just loneliness, but sickness in general. The divine material of the soul, though eternal in nature, is a substance that is truly capable of corruption in many ways, because the soul simply absorbs everything that it sees to be true, but never to be certain of its adverse effects. Character is the full reflection of the state of the rational soul, reflective in as much as it mirrors the senses, and it is defined purely of substantive manifestation, as well as the appreciation of the most proximate tangible evidence."
"That character is too much culpable in my opinion. It may easily commit errors in judgment."
"Mistakes are rather formative than destructive if glimpsed in the positive side of the most humanly possible interpretation."
"That is true enough, in a sense, but the ego always chooses to be stronger than the forces of nature. Pride seems to choose its own way of downfall, freely and anadulterated. In more cases than none, it refuses to bend to a point that it must deal with the danger of reaching its breaking point, all under the guise of the personality desperately reflecting false courage and power."
"This leads to loneliness. I can see it clearly now."
"Yes. And this kind of dynamics is too strong to be perceived by an ordinary intellect. It results to a truly potent rhetoric, debating inside the mind, truly reflective of the perceptive and the interpretative nature of the physiological mechanism of storing memories (the two main elements of the metaphysical mirror of experiences) as it tries to process the principal source of the stimulus; yet it does not auttomatically appeal to its extra senses, it is left alone to decipher the cryptic codes of the cosmos that leads to the point of futility. It then begins to form a very infectious, and more dangerous rhetoric, that is truly life threatening. It was the same conditions present when first discovered in relation to the eternal meaning of words and actions."
"I am not afraid of that. I have seen fear straight in the face. But what I care about is deception, and the motivations many attribute to loneliness and the general feeling of emptiness."
"Indeed. But no matter how chivalrous we think we are, loneliness can lead to . . ."
"Death. A senseless death."
"But even the Sinister Agent cannot trigger your loneliness, correct? Even I cannot totally read your mirror. Death means nothing to you. And I deeply suspect that the tolling of the bell will also not arose any suspicion of murder to a certain degree."
"I can close my own reflective ability from external access, yes. But that sounds strange, as well, don't you think? You were also a Publisher in a while. I can vividly remember seeing your license before. This ability should not come as a surprise."
"You are still as clever as before, Santa Claus. You cannot simply trick me to believe that you are someone else because I can feel Father Christmas at a distance. Have a safe trip to the North Pole. This vacation leave has been most fruitful."
